Our Basswood 3/4 x 8 x 12 Carving Blanks are an excellent choice for any carving project!

Try a piece of Northern Wisconsin 3/4" Basswood that is soft, white and easier to carve than other basswood. This stock comes to us from the mill known as 8/4 basswood. We then mill it down and cut it to dimension. We try to maintain a full 3/4" thick, but thickness can vary up to 1/8" depending on the shrinkage from the drying process. Our basswood is light and super soft making it perfect for hand carving.

Our 1/2, and 1/8" Basswood is a great choice for overlays, bookmarks, models, laminations and ornaments, and our thicker Basswood is perfect for carving animals, birds, gnomes, and so much more

Use the lightness of the Basswood and the the light color to your advantage. Basswood stains easily and is an excellent choice for making projects that require a colored stain.

Warranty Information

Wood is a natural product. This red oak lumber may vary in color and also have a blemish or two. This is natural for any piece of wood. Lumber should be stored horizontally undercover on a firm surface (not the floor) to prevent warping. Allow several days after the arrival of your lumber for the wood to adjust to the humidity and temperature where you will use it and store it. Make sure that a heavy weight is placed on the top of the lumber. This will prevent warpage as the lumber changes and climatizes to your environment. Lumber is not warranted against color or minor defects. We can not exchange lumber because of the color. If your lumber is not satisfactory please contact us for tips on your specific issue.
