What You'll Need To Finish The Cardinal Whirligig DIY Kit:

We recommend basic DIY and home craft skills. The Cardinal Whirligig DIY Kit is pretty easy to put together, but you might need a little help from a few tools. To assemble your whirligig parts into a beautiful cardinal, you’ll need:

• Sandpaper 120 grit and 220 grit.
• Hammer.
• Screwdriver.
• Pliers. 
• Glue.
• Paint. (We recommend using a primer coat, then painting the colors, and putting a clear protective finish over that).

 Assembly instructions for the cardinal wind spinner are included in the whirligig pre-cut kit. We recommend that you dry-fit all the parts together before gluing and nailing. Go ahead and lightly sand each piece, and then start your assembly.

Some people prefer to paint the whirligig before putting it together, but it looks a little more uniform if you do the painting after assembling your Cardinal Whirligig DIY Kit. A quick coat of primer will give you an even surface to start your painting. Then, go ahead and paint the bird wind spinner the colors that you'd like.
