    Ferris wheel

This was a rather intricate cut. The wheels are best done by stack cutting, as there are several hundred individual cuts, and you don't need to do that times 2. Sadly, the plan has not been updated for the parts description. Amazon sells a high torque low RPM AC motor that works well, with only slight modifications to the plan. I used a 1/4 inch diameter brass rod for the axle of the wheels and placed a 5/16 brass tube in each wheel upright. At one end you can make a drive pulley, or buy one and use a urethane rope, heat welded to the right length as the the drive belt. I added fine sandpaper to the pulleys for more grip.

    Great Project

Full size plan - super. Well layed out and individual parts accurate. Too bad the plan indicated a "parts kit" which is no longer available. Amazon several 3 RPM motors and I will choose from. Pop's Shop

I am very pleased with my plan. I have already completed the ticker booth and am happy the way it has come together . I have emailed Wildwood Designs but as yet haven"t had a reply. I am happy with the fine detail work and intend to send you some photo's of my completed article. Thanks for the opportunity of dealing with you. Cheers Ron.

    Ferris Wheel

This project takes some time but it is really worth it. I used some purpleheart, yellowheart, and some paduak to add some contrasting colors in the ticket booth. The wood mounting brackets and such for the motor worked perfectly and the motor is available at scientificsonline.com for about 20 bucks. I recommend buying the hardware package because the hardware really adds to the appearance. Really had fun making this.
