 Foredom SR Motor

The Foredom SR motor is a 1/6 hp workhorse with a 39" flexible shaft in the hangup style.  The SR is the most popular motor made by Foredom. It is able to run forward and reverse at speeds up to 18,000 rpm.

This is a reliable and versatile tool that will keep running for years to come.  The Foredom SR features key tip shafting to go with any of Foredom's Interchangeable Handpiece

Foredom SR Motor has three different speed settings: OFF – no rotation. FORWARD – clockwise shaft rotation as you work. It is the most commonly used setting. Right-handed people will get the most control in Forward. REVERSE – counterclockwise shaft rotation as you work.  If you point a powered handpiece toward your face as it runs in forward the accessory will appear to be running counter-clockwise.

Foredom flexible shaft machines are designed to operate in either direction, forward or reverse. The advantages of running the motor in the reverse direction may not be immediately apparent, but they are numerous. Perhaps the most significant advantage is that left-handed users will have better control when running the Foredom motor in the reverse direction.

Other advantages include the fact that dust and debris will fly away from the workpiece in reverse, and that reversing the motor direction can extend the life of mounted abrasive points, buffs, brushes, sanding bands, and Typhoon® burs. Reverse rotation is also helpful for accomplishing symmetrical grinding and carving techniques, and for "backing out" stuck drill bits. In addition, reversing the motor direction makes it easier and faster to polish metals. When using a Foredom motor in the reverse direction, be sure to use a mandrel with a left-hand threaded arbor screw.

When the handpiece/accessory is in use on a workpiece, the forward rotation direction is clockwise. Foredom motors are widely recognized for their quality, power, and performance. They are used in a variety of industries including woodworking, automotive, marine, aerospace, and jewelry making. Foredom also offers a wide range of Attachments and Accessories that fit onto the flexible shafts to enable users to perform an infinite number of tasks. Foredom Tools are the preferred choice of professional artisans and hobbyists around the world.

Foredom #44T Handpiece

The Handpiece is one of the most popular handpieces that works with different size accessories using a wide range of applications and accommodates up to a 1/4"  diameter shank. The Foredom Handpiece has a "Quick Disconnect" feature which makes it totally easier and faster to interchange handpieces to any Key Tip style Foredom Flex Shaft machine, except heavy-duty models.

Foredom has produced a high-quality handpiece that will last for many years with proper care. The Foredom handpiece is to be used in the forward motor direction ONLY for fluted burs, drills, and cutters. Most will cut efficiently only when turning in this direction.

Right-hand threaded arbor screws which will un-screw in the reverse direction. When the Foredom handpiece is operated in forward in the left hand, dust and debris flies away from the user.

Precautions taken against dust and debris are always necessary and important whether you are right or left-handed or operate in forward or reverse. Enjoy your Foredom Handpiece!

Foot Control

The C.FCT-1 Foot Control is a reliable and popular option for those looking for a foot-operated variable speed control. The ergonomics allow for precise speed control with your foot, making it easy to use. The C.FCT-1 is also compatible with the Dremel 732 flex shaft tool, so you can use it with that as well to vary speed. This makes it a versatile and convenient option for anyone looking for a reliable Foot Control.

Woodcarving Bur Set

The Accessories Kit contains several different rotary accessories that can be used for a variety of purposes. The different accessories have different diameter shanks, so it is important to pair them with the same size collet. Installation and changing of handpiece accessories are easy to do, as detailed instructions are included in the kit.

Always use a light touch for high-speed work, and be gentle when applying pressure to wood to avoid burning it. If a more aggressive performance is desired, then you should probably use a more aggressive or coarser grit bur. In general, the speed of the tool should do the work - never force the tool to do more than what is necessary. Following these guidelines will help you get the most out of your Accessories Kit.

Change Handpiece Collets

Changing collets on your handpiece is a relatively easy process, but it's important to follow the instructions carefully to avoid damaging the collet or the spindle. First, insert the pin provided into the pilot hole and align it with the spindle hole. Then, apply a wrench and unscrew the chuck nut by turning it counterclockwise.

Next, remove the chuck nut to expose the collet. Pull the collet out of the handpiece spindle, and then slip the new collet in place. Finally, screw on the chuck nut. Caution: Never screw the chuck nut back on too tightly, as this can damage the collet or spindle.

Also be careful not to insert an accessory that is too small or too large for the collet, as this can also cause damage. Changing collets on your handpiece is a relatively easy process, but it's important to follow these instructions carefully to avoid damaging the collet or spindle.

What's In The Accessory Kit?

Change Accessories

Changing your drill bit or other accessory is a fairly simple process, but it's important to follow the steps carefully to avoid damaging your tool. First, be sure that the shank size of the accessory you're using is paired with the same size collet.

Inserting an accessory that's too small or too large can damage the collet. Next, insert the provided pin into the pilot hole and through the spindle hole. Apply a wrench and loosen the chuck nut slightly by turning it counterclockwise.

Then, insert the shank of the accessory into the collet as far as it will go. Tighten the chuck nut with a wrench, keeping the pin in the pilot hole. Test for a secure hold by pulling on the accessory. Once you're sure it's secure, you can remove the pin. Changing accessories on your drill doesn't have to be difficult - just be sure to follow these simple steps.
