These are the same Ramelson heavy-duty tools that are commonly found with palm handles. It is fitted with an elongated handle which they refer to as a "straight" handle. Some carvers with big hands prefer this type of handle.

The Ramelson #9 x 1/2" Fishtail Gouge Straight Handle is ideal for every carver's collection that has a handle faceted with multiple control points to allow them to be held in various comfortable positions. 

Each gouge is made from W-1 US Tool Steel with a Rockwell hardness of 60-62.  This short-bladed knife is used to create precise cuts.
