If you are looking for a tool to help you layout a line from one perpendicular surface to another, the Veritas Saddle Square is just what you need. This saddle square allows you to scribe two perpendicular surfaces at the same time. More importantly, the veritas saddle square allows you to pick up on a line that is already scribed, and accurately transfer it to another face perpendicular to it. With 1-1/4" and 2-1/4" inside legs, the saddle square can be used to wrap a line around work pieces up to almost double this.
