Description
The Stryi Sculpture #7 Bent Gouge 50mm wood carving tool is used on large sculpture carvings and chainsaw carvings. Normally with this type of wood carving, a mallet can be used as an accessory tool as you drive the tool through the wood depending on how hard or soft you strike the tool handle.
Stryi tools are made from heavy duty carbon steel which almost guarantees a long lasting carving tool. The ideal composition and hardness determines the blades quality. The softer the steel the lower the RC number. Most caving knives have a Rockwell hardness of 58-59. Stryi's knives have a Rockwell hardness of 60-62 which holds a sharper edge and lasts longer.
The comfortable ergonomic and optical handle shape allows long lasting carving without additional hand fatigue. Each Stryi gouge is factory sharpened entirely by hand without sharp edge drops, providing soft, even tempered, smooth and clear cuts on hard and soft wood. Also such sharpening is fitting for tough work and doesn’t need to be stropped very often.
