All Two Cherries knife handles have a lacquer coating  to prevent moisture from getting into the wood. The handle and blade are the perfect balance to fit comfortably in your hand. Polished German hand-forged blades made from high carbon steel, hardened in bath salt, tempered at  61° Rockwell hardness, then polished to a high gloss finish making it easier to penetrate into the wood, and resharpen. Tools come sharpened at cutting angle of 17° which is suitable for soft to medium wood.  Always clean the tools after each use with a cloth soaked in oil to prevent corrosion for best results.
