The long bent gouge is curved along the length of a blade. The curves change the angle at the edge, making it easier to cut into recessed areas such as bowls and spoons for deep relief work. The gouges, which come in long- and short-bent styles, also work extremely well to undercut an area.

The Stubai #7 Gouge has higher wings allowing deeper cuts to create shapes, and define character. They work great for relief, sculpting, signs, statues, and small and large projects.
