Canvasback Resting On Water Carving Pattern

Let the sawdust fly as you create an excellent Canvasback duck with the Canvasback Resting On Water Carving Pattern. The Canvasback duck is a diving duck that is approximately 18-22" long with a wingspan of 31-35" long, weighing anywhere from 2.5-3 lbs. Males have a chestnut brown head,  and a  black bill with a grey band, black chest and tail feathers, and white midsection. Females have a lighter brown head with a dark streak on top, and whitish back feathers. Create a magnificent carving of a realistic Canvasback duck with the Stiller pattern. You can choose the male or female Canvasback duck in 1/2, 3/4 and full sizes.

  • Body; 7" x 5" x 13" piece of Basswood or Tupelo.
  • Head; 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" x 6" piece of Basswood or Tupelo.
  • 9 mm Red Eyes.
  • Feet.

Materials needed to carve the 9" long 3/4 size Male Canvasback Resting on Water:

  • Body; 5" x 3 3/4" x 10" piece of Basswood or Tupelo.
  • Head; 2" x 2 3/4" x 4 1/4" piece of Basswood or Tupelo.
  •  7 mm Red Eyes.
  • Feet.

Materials needed to carve the 6" long 1/2 size Male Canvasback Resting On Water:

  • Body; 3 1/2" x 2 3/4" x  6 1/2" piece of Basswood or Tupelo.
  • Head;1" x 1 1/2" x 3" piece of Basswood or Tupelo.
  • 4 mm Red Eyes
  • Feet; We do carry replica cast feet for this Stiller pattern.
