Exterior 450 provides a tough, protective finish that will withstand the rigors of the sun, rain, and wind.  It is suitable for vertical surfaces such as fences, patio furniture, garage doors, entrance doors, outdoor kitchens and interior windows. It is not recommended as a deck finish. Fortified with UV absorbers to stabilize the finish, Exterior 450's built-in mildewcide retards mold and mildew growth. Tough and flexible, it will resist the expansion and contraction of the wood through hot summers and cold winter. Exterior 450 performs well as a clear coat or as an optional topcoat over General Finishes Milk Paint. It can also be used as a tint base to create custom colors. Warning: We do not recommend Exterior 450 stains or topcoats for exotic woods Ipe, Teak, or other dense oily woods that will get exposure. 

FACTS:

USE: Interior and Exterior

SHEEN: Satin, Semi-Gloss, and Gloss

SANDING: On bare wood sand to 150- 180 grit. Use 220-400 grit gray flexible sanding pads between coats or 400 grit sandpaper.

RECOAT: 1-2 hours

CURE TIME: Cure time for all General Finishes products is about 14 days under ideal conditions (70° and 70% humidity). However, this may vary slightly with humidity & temperature. Good ventilation, air movement and higher temperatures will accelerate dry time. 

APPLICATION: Acrylic brush, foam brush, paint pad applicator, or spray. Apply a minimum of 3 coats for best results.

SEALER: Exterior 450 Clear is self sealing. 

COLOR: Initially clear, ambers over time.

CLEANUP: Soap and warm water

COVERAGE: 150 sq.ft/qt
