Green Winged Teal Flying Carving Pattern

Get creative with the Green Winged Teal Flying/Taking Off Carving Pattern with the head pointed in a forward position and the feet are tucked back, and wings expanded out position.  The pattern has top, front  and side views with an exploded view of the body, and head with bill.  There are two different pattern sizes for the male ,  full size, and 1/3 size, plus one size full size Female. The Stiller patterns are black & white . You'll need reference material for painting, wood or cork to carve the duck from, and you can carve or purchase the  eyes.  We suggest making the cutout for the Green Winged Teal Flying/Taking Off Carving Patternin three pieces, the body, head, and wings.

The Green-winged Teal is North America's smallest dabbling duck with green iridescent patches on its head and wings. The Green Teal duck is almost 14 1/2 inches long with a wingspan of 24 inches. The males and females have different patterns and coloring. Males have a brownish red head with a green, crescent-shaped patch running through the eye to the back of the head, and take off by flying straight up from the water .

When carving the full size 9" long Green Winged Teal Male Flying/Taking Off  you can use:

  • 7-8 mm dark brown eyes.
  • 4" x 8" x 9" piece of Tupelo or Basswood for the body.
  • 1" x 3 " x 5 " piece of Tupelo or Basswood for the head.
  • 4" x 2" x 10" piece of Basswood or Tupelo for the wings.
  • Feet. We do carry replica Delise cast feet for this pattern.

When carving the Green Winged Teal Female Flying/Taking Off you can use:

  • 1/2" x 1" x 1 1/2" piece of Basswood or Tupelo for the head.
  • 1 1/2" x 3/4" x 3 1/2"piece of Basswood or Tupelo for the wings.
  • Feet.
