Labrador Duck Male Resting On Water Carving Pattern

If your wanting to carve a unique duck then the Labrador Duck Male Resting On Water Carving Pattern is what your looking for. The Labrador Duck is a small sea duck that weighs approximately 1.5-2 pounds, and is 16-17 inches long. This duck defiantly has stunning colors and markings. The male Labrador duck has a white head with a black patch around on top, black collar around his neck,  and a black body with white patches. The  Labrador Duck is very similar to the Steller's Eider duck. However the Labrador duck has been extinct for years.

These Stiller patterns can be carved in two pieces, the body and head. Carve a decorative duck with one of these outstanding patterns.

  • Materials needed to carve the full size 16" long Male: 

    •  Body; 6" x 5" x 14" pieced of Basswood or Tupelo.
    • Head; 2" x 4" x 5 1/2" piece of Basswood or Tupelo.
    • Eyes; 8 mm Hazel.
    • Feet.
  • Materials needed to carve the 1/2 size 6 1/2" long Male:

    • Body; 3" x 3" x 7" piece of Basswood or Tupelo.
    • Head; 1" x 2" x 3" piece of Basswood or Tupelo.
    • Eyes; 4 mm Hazel.
    • Feet.
  • Materials needed to carve the full size 15" long Female:

    • Body; 6" x 5" x 13" piece of Basswood or Tupelo.
    • Head; 2" x 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of Basswood or Tupelo.
    • Eyes; 7-8 mm Hazel.
    • Feet.
  • Materials needed to carve the 1/2 size 6" long Female:

    • Body; 3" x 2 3/4" x 6 1/2" piece of Basswood or Tupelo.
    • Head; 1" x 2" x 3" piece of Basswood or Tupelo.
    • Eyes; 4 mm Hazel.
    • Feet.
