Common Eider Resting On Water Carving Pattern

Carve a beautiful large duck with the Common Eider Resting On Water Carving Pattern. The Common Eider is a very large sea duck weighing 3-4 pounds and is about 19-27 inches long. The Males have a wedge shaped head, with a black cap, and it's bill is  long and wide. It's body is a blackish gray, with a pale peach colored breast, and his under-wings have a light faded olive green. Females are brown with black barring, and the bills are an olive green that fades to gray. The Common Eider is defiantly a unique  duck that fly's up to 70 miles per hour!  Common Eider has outstanding markings and different colors, making this an extraordinary duck you'll want to carve.

    • Head; 3" x 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" piece of Basswood or Tupelo.
    • Eyes; 9-10 mm Brown.
    • Feet. 
  • Materials suggested to carve the 1/2 size 8" long Male;

    • Body; 4" x 3 1/2" x 8" piece of Basswood or Tupelo.
    • Head; 2" x 2" x 3 1/2 piece of Basswood or Tupelo.
    • Eyes;  4-5 mm Brown.
    • Feet.
  • Materials suggested to carve the full size 16" long Female;

    • Body; 7" x 5 1/2" x 14" piece of Basswood or Tupelo.
    • Head; 2 1/2" x 3" x 6" piece of Basswood or Tupelo.
    • Eyes; 9-10 mm Yellow Brown.
    • Feet.
  • Materials suggested to carve the 1/2 size 7" long Female;

    • Body; 3 1/2" x 3" x 7 1/2" piece of Basswood or Tupelo.
    • Head; 1 1/4" x 1 1/2" x 3 1/2" piece of Basswood or Tupelo.
    • Eyes; 4-5 mm Yellow Brown.
