Common Snipe Standing Carving Pattern

The Common Snipe Standing Carving Pattern is a great way to get those wood carving projects going that you'll enjoy. The Common Snipe is a small stocky bird with the longest bill of all Snipes. They are 9-11 inches long, with a wingspan of approximately 15-17 inches, and have a broad white stripe at the base of the wings. They are a unisex bird, meaning male and females are similar. 

Carve a Common Snipe today with this Stiller pattern. When your finished with your carving you can add more details with a wood burner.

    • Body; 3" x 3" x 7" piece of Basswood or Tupelo.
    • Head w/Bill; 1 1/4" x 2" x 4 1/2" piece of Basswood or Tupelo.
    • Eye's; 6 mm Brown.
    • Feet; We do carry replica Delise cast feet for this Stiller pattern.
  • Materials suggested to carve the 1/2 size Common Snipe;

    • Body & Head w/Bill; 2" x 2"  x 6" piece of Basswood or Tupelo.
    • Eye's; 3 mm Brown.
    • Feet;
  • Materials needed to carve the 1/2 size Common Snipe in color;

    • Body & Head w/Bill; 2" x 3" x 6" piece of Basswood or Tupelo.
    • Eye's; 4 mm Brown.
    • Feet.
