Flexcut 70° x 1/8" V-Tool is a fixed handle palm tool with a 70° V shape and is 1/8" wide (3mm).  It is about 5" overall with a 3" steel blade. The Flexcut gouge features a flexible spring steel shank that conforms to the contours of your projects surface to give you maximum control over every cut.

The wide variety of shapes it can attain makes this such a diverse tool. When the contour of the surface changes, the angle of the handle remains almost the same. Flexcut V-Tool can be used for outlining,  performing detail work, and adding depth to backgrounds. The V-Tool is perfect for drawing lines to shape unique features in your carving.

Flexcut Palm gouge are shorter in length with the cutting edge closer to your controlling hand for a much tighter control over your carving project. The handles are constructed from Ash wood for a more ergonomic and comfortable fit preventing fatigue.

Flexcut V-Tools are made in the USA from high carbon spring steel with outstanding quality craftsmanship for reliable cuts and supreme accuracy.

The more polished the edge, the sharper it is and the longer it will stay sharp. Keeping your tools sharp requires some routine maintenance.  We recommend a strop and a sharpening compound.  This Flexcut FR603 Palm 70° x 1/8" V-Tool is sharpened at 15°.  That is the angle that you should also strop it at. Properly maintaining your carving tools is the key to achieving success in your projects. When considering the right tools for the job, a strop and sharpening compound are highly recommended. With these in hand, you'll be able to achieve the perfect sharpness and angle required for your carving gouge. It's important to remember that the ideal angle for sharpening your gouge is 15°, which is the same angle it's typically pre-sharpened at. Keeping your tools maintained and sharp will significantly enhance your carving experience.Don't forget to wear an apron and a dust mask to collect all the sawdust – with your newly sharpened tools, you're bound to create plenty of it!
