King Eider Male Resting On Water Carving Pattern

These Colorful large sea ducks weigh about 3 1/2 pounds, are 20-28 inches long with a wingspan of about 34-40 inches long. King Eider male is called king because of the orange, crown type knob above his bill. His oblong head is multi colored blue, green, and orange, with pale green cheeks, a reddish orange short bill, and black and white body. The female King Eider has a black bill, molted brown and black body with a thick soft down.
