Wheel Construction Plan

The Wheel Construction Plan can be used for horse drawn toys or toy vehicles.This instruction chart describes a well-proven method, which requires no special skill or facilities. Once the jigs have been made up it only takes two - three hours to make a wheel of accurate scale appearance. Wheels are dished but can be made straight.

This plan shows construction details used by the wheelwrights years ago, and includes hub details, simple drilling jig for spokes, etc.  It is really not difficult at all to master the technique.
