Did you know that Wells Fargo started out in 1852 as a bank? It rapidly grew into a gold transit express for delivery of gold to it's banks until the year 1918. Somewhere around 1866 Wells Fargo also evolved into a Stage Coach Company for passengers and mail express until 1869. This Abbot-Downing Coach was one of the companies producing coaches for Wells Fargo in 1867. It sold for $1100 a unit and weighed 2500 Pounds!
