Description

The Colwood Replaceable Primary Short  45° Woodburning Tip is one of the smallest of the point tips used for burning in tight and hard-to-reach areas with a 45° bend.

These Colwood Replaceable tips can also be used to outline or use the tip to create detail such as under feathers.  Most Tips when held at a 45° angle to the wood and rotated between the thumb and fingers allow you to use the tip as a calligraphy tip, creating thick lines or graceful curved lines.

With the 45° tip it is already bent making it easier to create those special effects without holding your hand in an awkward position. The fine narrow tip reaches a higher heat than the wide tips. When the fine tip burns it's a darker impression, and the wide tips will burn a lighter impression.

It is very Important that you specify which tip you need: The left tip is for right-handed wood burning and the right tip is for left-handed wood burning.

Cleaning Replaceable Tips

The high-quality Replaceable Wood Burning Tip offers an easy and convenient way to clean your wood burning tips. Use a leather honing strop, with aluminum oxide. Simply place a small amount of oxide on the strop and pull the woodburning tip across the strop surface to clear the tip of the carbon.

You can also use the Colwood cleaning burrs, simply insert the burr into your 1/8" collet on your handpiece, and you'll be able to remove carbon buildup in seconds. This will help keep your tips functioning properly for longer and give you more hours of comfortable burning.

These are the best methods because it quickly and easily removes all the soot and residue from your tip, so you can continue your project with ease.

Having a clean woodburning tip will help to produce cleaner lines while wood burning.
