 What the Modeling Paste Does

The Liquitex Acrylic Modeling Paste is an airy, lightweight acrylic putty that can be used to create heavy textures and 3D forms in places where weight is a factor.

Once dried, Acrylic Modeling Paste creates a hard, white matte finish that can be used on its own or with color added in. Its lightweight clay-like consistency can be used to add body to paint and create pastel tints. Additionally, it can be painted with acrylics, oils, watercolors, graphite, or dry pastels.

Acrylic Modeling Paste maintains paint adhesion, durability, and archival quality. Use it with acrylic paints and mediums.

How to use acrylic modeling paste 

-Model Paste can be fully mixed with all Liquitex products, Basics and Professional

-Use only on rigid supports

-Apply with a knife or tool

-Mix with acrylic color to create a tinted paste

-For sculptural texture, build up in thin layers and allow each layer to dry

-Dry slowly by loosely covering with plastic wrap to avoid shrinkage cracks

-Once dry, overpaint with acrylics or most other media for added transparency or patterning

-Add medium to increase viscosity and extender to lengthen drying time

-Strong body, good hold

-Can be Tooled and carved when dry

Modeling Paste is an acrylic paste medium used to create three-dimensional effects. When dry, it forms a hard, durable surface.
