The 6" Cotton Buffing Wheel is a 55 ply cotton wheel with 1/2"diameter hole.   The cotton buffing wheel is used as the  for final step in the polishing process. This general polishing process will buff and maintain sharp tools. The cotton wheel is spiral sewn for the ability to apply greater pressure with your carving tools.  The spiral sewing will make it easier to get scratches out of your tools. The unmounted 6" Cotton Buffing Wheel should not exceed 3600 RPM, and must be used with polishing compound. To begin the polishing process with the cotton buffing wheel, you should always clean your tool before polishing. Practice on a scrap piece of metal to familiarize  yourself with the material so you know how the metal will take to the polishing process. Mount your cotton buffing wheel on motor or shaft, (requires an Drill Chuck Arbor). Simply apply very small amounts of the polishing compound, while the wheel is spinning, once the cotton wheel is lightly coated, apply minimal  pressure to the surface of your blade, and repeat the process until visible scratches are removed.    6" Cotton Buffing Wheel Specifications: 55 ply. 1/2" diameter hole.
