Common Loon Resting On Water 3/4 Size Carving Pattern

The Common loon resting on water carving pattern in the 3/4 size edition features the loon resting on water with patterns for the full belly or the above water line version.  There are also two head versions, one normal with the beak closed and the other calling.  

The pattern is drawn to full scale including the swimming feet.  A total length is about 14" long.

We recommend 9mm red eyes.

For the resting on water loon at water height (flat bottom) you will need a 3" x 8" x 15" piece of wood for the body and a 3" x 5" x 7" piece for the head.  The calling head will also fit on the head block if you'd like to interchange them.  The full body loon will require a 5" x 8" x 15" block of wood for the body.

This is a full size drawing of a 3/4 size loon resting on water to be reference when carving a 3/4 size loon.  The feather pattern is shown but there is not a reference for colors instructions as to how to carve the loon.
