The Ring Necked Pheasant weighs 2-2 1/2 pounds, 19-27 inches long, with a wingspan of 22-33 inches. This chicken like game bird has a red face with shinny green neck with a bold white ring. Males have an extremely long tail with copper colors and thin black bars. Females are a brown cinnamon and black spotting on the sides, and thin black bars on the tails.
