Specialty Gouges
A specialty gouge is a type of carving gouge that is used in special situations where you want to accomplish a certain task in carving. They are used to create special carving effects and are ideal for detailed work.
The Semi-Circular Gouge is the most popular type of specialty gouge and is often used for carving letters, numbers, and other shapes into wood.
Other types of specialty gouges include V-gouge and U-gouges that are outside the realm of the normal gouges.
